Donalee Mylin prepares an onion pie as part of a demonstration at the Lancaster County hair extensions Food Festival on the grounds of the Hans Herr House and Museum in Willow Street, Saturday. This year's festival featured quesadillas, crab cakes, curry and ice cream. Music was performed by the Lititz Moravian Trombone Choir and the Spanish band VIVE, along with Native American drumming by Joseph Strider. Native crafts were sold, including leather bags and glass bead necklaces.
hair extensionsThe festival raised funds for the Hans Herr House to construct a replica of a Native American longhouse - a multi-family home with a log frame, rounded roof and siding hair extensions made of tree bark - that was typical in Lancaster County for hundreds of years before Europeans arrived.
