Drunken mum kicked policeman [

VIOLENCE erupted when a drunken mother who had been downing cheap drinks at a pub later kicked out at a policeman after the drinking session turned nasty, a court heard.

Joanne Stevenson, 29, of Wrawby Road, Scunthorpe, admitted assaulting PC Jamie Raper in the execution hermes bag of his duty and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on June 27.

Debbie Sanders, prosecuting, said Stevenson was spotted arguing with a male outside the Blarney Stone pub, Scunthorpe. She offered to fight the man and police split them up.

PC Raper arrested Stevenson and restrained her. She kicked out at him, hitting his left calf.

She was warned about her behaviour and was escorted to a police hermes bag van, but kicked out at him again.

Stevenson later admitted she had been drinking at a friend's home before going out into Scunthorpe, where she drank three or four bottles of cider with friends. She went to the Blarney Stone, where there was a cheap drinks offer, and drank five or six cocktails.

Vicky Lee, mitigating, said Stevenson was very drunk and claimed she could not remember the incident.

Stevenson was given 80 hours' unpaid work at North Lincolnshire Magistrates' Court and ordered to pay Pounds 50 compensation and Pounds 85 costs.

In the courts XIUFANG Lu-Farnham, 53, Marsh Lane, Barton-Upon- Humber, pleaded guilty at North Lincolnshire Magistrates Court to failing to stop vehicle when directed by PC, failing to comply with red light traffic signals; fined Pounds 300, Pounds 150 costs.
