The nonprofit organization has scheduled the second consecutive Saturday work party at the site for 8:30 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m.

The billboard was erected in 2009 as part of a cleanup effort at the former colliery washhouse site along Route 61. The landscaping involves placement of soil, mulch, flowers and shrubbery, a cleanup of brush and weeds, and painting of a concrete foundation.

V4G obtained funding for the project through the 2010 Pay It Forward contest in The News-Item, in which PPL Corp. awarded $500 grants to three deserving community projects. Also, Lloyd's Landscaping has provided free design work and is discounting prices for V4G's efforts.
