A 35-year-old Chattanooga woman's children arrived home from school Wednesday to find their mother stabbed ultrasonic flowmeter and beaten to death, police said.
Chandra Powell's 11-year-old son and her 15- and 16-year-old daughters found her body lying on the living room floor upon arriving home from school. Her 2-year-old was asleep beside her, Chattanooga police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval said.
A fifth child, an infant, was in a bedroom ultrasonic flowmeter in a bassinet, Royval said.
She said police were called at 2:51 p.m. to the British Woods Apartments, 4417 Oakwood Drive, No. 303.

Police are treating the case as a homicide. Along with numerous stab wounds, Powell also had suffered blunt force trauma, Royval said.
There were no suspects replica breitling as of Wednesday night, police said, but investigators are conducting interviews.
Royval said investigators are "certainly looking into" the case being a domestic assault, but "anything is a possibility at this time."
An autopsy is scheduled today.
