PRTM鈥檚 2010 list of top 25 potential buyers within the global 100 suppliers comprises an equal number of European, Japanese and U.S. companies. More than half of the companies on this year鈥檚 list are diversified, such as DuPont, while the rest are pure-play automotive and commercial vehicle suppliers, such as Cummins and Michelin. The strange saga of James O'Ke

I DO NOT believe in "citizen journalism."

Yes, I know that's heresy. Yes, I know the old model has changed: The monologue is now a dialogue. Yes, I know ordinary people with cell-phone cameras now "report" newsworthy events and bloggers are indispensable to the national dialogue.

Yet I remain convinced that, with exceptions, citizen journalism is to journalism as pornography is to a Martin Scorsese film; while they may employ similar tools - i.e., camera, lighting - they aspire to different results.

So I've had it up to here with people calling James O'Keefe III a journalist.

Last year, you may recall, political conservatives lauded O'Keefe for "investigative journalism" that helped bring down ACORN, the financially troubled group whose sinister works included advocating for poor and middle-income people.

O'Keefe, in a hidden camera sting, posed as a pimp and filmed some of the organization's employees advising him on how to facilitate his supposed illicit business. It made him the toast of the blogosphere and earned him the admiration of Fox News. A resolution honoring him was even introduced in the House of Representatives.

The resolution, which failed, praised O'Keefe and his conspirator, Hannah chanel replica watches Giles, for "exemplary actions as government watchdogs and young journalists."

A year later, the star of the "young journalist" is, putting it mildly, fading.

If some guy had a wrench, would that make him a citizen mechanic? If some woman flashed a toy badge, would you call her a citizen police officer? Would you trust your health to a citizen doctor just because he produced a syringe?

Of course not. But every Tom, Dick and Harriet with a blog is a "citizen journalist."

THE tension on the streets of Belfast is palpable. The wailing sirens of the army bomb disposal unit can be heard making its way to the latest bomb scare at a shopping centre on the Crumlin Road.

Sadly, such incidents are once again all too commonplace in the North.

A 35-year-old Chattanooga woman's children arrived home from school Wednesday to find their mother stabbed ultrasonic flowmeter and beaten to death, police said.

Chandra Powell's 11-year-old son and her 15- and 16-year-old daughters found her body lying on the living room floor upon arriving home from school. Her 2-year-old was asleep beside her, Chattanooga police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval said.

A fifth child, an infant, was in a bedroom ultrasonic flowmeter in a bassinet, Royval said.

She said police were called at 2:51 p.m. to the British Woods Apartments, 4417 Oakwood Drive, No. 303.

Both young children were unharmed but transported to T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital as a "precautionary measure," she said. Child Protective Services will determine where to place the children.

Police are treating the case as a homicide. Along with numerous stab wounds, Powell also had suffered blunt force trauma, Royval said.

A little while before giving a speech Wednesday afternoon at Fort Monroe, Army Col. Gregory Gadson sat down to lunch with a few colleagues.

Making conversation, one of them mentioned that he'd heard that a lot of people were coming, that a lot of people were looking forward to Gadson's talk.

Gadson thought: Why would anyone be excited? I'm just an old soldier. I put my pants on in the morning just like everybody else.

Then it hit him.

"I don't put my pants on like everybody else," he said, recounting the conversation a couple of hours later for his audience at Fort Monroe.

Gadson, who grew up in Chesapeake, is a double amputee. He lost his legs after a roadside bomb blew him from his vehicle in Iraq in 2007.

T hree years later, he's OK with the fact that he does things differently. He says it's only made him better-suited for the job he accepted this summer, as director of the Army's Wounded Warrior Program.

"We all have value," he told his audience. "We all have something to give."

Gadson, 44, made the stop at Fort Monroe to recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The Wounded Warrior Program serves roughly 8,000 severely wounded combat veterans, and a big part of its mission is making sure those soldiers have a place in the military for as long as they want one, despite their injuries.

Gadson said he believes the Army has finally started to honor that pledge. "Our Army has come a long way," he said. "We're not obligated by the law, but we're living up to the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act, anyway."

In discussing his injuries and recovery, Gadson said that in the moments after the explosion, he thought he probably wouldn't survive the blood loss; he was saved by the use of tourniquets.

Doctors removed the remains of his left leg about a week later, and then his right leg about a week after that. His right arm and hand were also badly injured. He has limited use of them today. He walks with the help of prosthetics but sometimes uses a wheelchair.

Since the explosion, he's endured 23 surgeries, he said.

Gadson omega watches noted that he drove himself to Fort Monroe and that he walked onto the stage before his talk. "I might not get there as fast as you," he said. "I might not get there the same way. But I'll get there."

Gadson attended Indian River High School in Chesapeake, where he played football. He went on to play at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He later became a field artillery officer and served in every major conflict of the past 20 years, including in Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia.

Besides sharing his own story, Gadson used his speech to omega watches remind his mostly military audience that not all combat injuries are visible, and that all types of disabilities should be treated with compassion.
