And so, you know, I'm happy and thrilled to be the governor of New Jersey. I don't have any other aspirations to do anything else, nor do I intend to, nor will I. But what we're doing here in New Jersey is a laboratory experiment for the rest of the country. KEENE: Let's dive into the laboratory, Governor, and just look at the New Jersey transit argument. I believe it's over $8.7 billion, with a "B." This is a tunnel, and again you've delayed the funds. Those are infrastructure jobs. Are you getting the help from Washington to do infrastructure like a tunnel to Manhattan? CHRISTIE: Sure. The total cost of that project has been estimated at $8.7 billion, $3 billion in federal funds and $5.7 billion from New Jersey. There's now fears that's there going to be significant higher costs connected to that project. And I said let's take a 30 day time out. Let's figure out before we spend any more money, let's figure out what the real cost is and whether we can afford to do this project right now. I would love to be able to do the project, but I can only do projects that I can pay for. And so I've seen estimates that this project $2 to $5 billion over budget.
